Spring has Sprung...

5/19/2015

...and with it has come a serious case of spring fever! 2B students have been unusually rowdy these past few days. We spent our morning discussing appropriate school behavior and wrote some simple rules to follow for the rest of the year.

Here they are:

     1. Behave appropriately - be respectful during learning times and save silliness for the appropriate times.
     2. Pay attention quietly and listen respectfully - talk only when you're called on and let others have their turn to speak.
     3. Walk through the hallways quietly - when you're in the halls, allow others to learn by being quiet and stay safe by walking.

We noticed these three rules all fall under the golden rule of treating others with respect. We promise to work our hardest to follow these rules.  We have a lot to learn in this last month of school and we don't want to waste a minute!

We Love McPuffy!

We do lots of fun things in 2nd grade. The best thing we all love is having a BRAIN BREAK! A brain break is when we watch a video on the computer. Each video makes us go cuckoo! We run around, we dance, or we take deep breaths. We watch these short videos after we've done a lot of sitting. Sometimes we have been writing and sometimes we have been reading. These videos give an exercise break.
We watch these videos from a website called www.gonoodle.com. We got to pick a character to be our mascot. We chose McPufferson, who we call McPuffy. He has three hairs on top of his head. He's a purplish-blue. He has no hands or arms and he is a ball. He has pink freckles and he is chunky. He is so cute.

You can watch a video of us taking a brain break below.

Here are our rules for our classroom. We made these rules so we can stay safe in the classroom and so we can learn. We are learning so we can become smarter. We only have six rules because the more rules you have, the harder it is to follow all of them.

Here they are:

   1. To have fun!
   2. Behave nicely (we can do this by not going cuckoo)
   3. Talk only at the right times. (You should be quiet when a teacher is talking, when someone is working, and when you're walking in the hallway.)
   4. You should walk when you're in the classroom or in the hallway (Running is for the gym and outside.)
   5. Make sure a teacher knows where you are (if you leave the room, tell your teacher and clip your name.)
   6. Treat others like you want to be treated (Be respectful to one another, be polite, and include others in your games.)
